Commissions
Selected commissions are undertaken for residential, hospitality and commercial environments. Working across painting, collage and sculptural forms, each project is developed in response to its specific context, creating works that are unique to the space and commission.
Process
Each commission develops through a process of research, exploration and making, responding to the unique character of a space, project or brief. While every commission is different, the stages below outline the typical journey from initial concept to completed artwork.
Context & Research
Each commission begins with an understanding of the space, architecture and project narrative. Through conversations, site imagery and material references, an initial direction is established in response to its intended environment.
Studies & Exploration
Ideas are developed through digital sketches, collage and material studies. Multiple concepts are explored, allowing composition, colour and spatial relationships to evolve before a final direction is selected.
Proposal
Selected concepts are refined into a proposal tailored to the project, considering scale, materiality and how the work will function within its intended setting.
Realisation
The final work is created through an iterative making process, translating the proposal into a finished artwork designed to respond to its architectural and interior context
